Penance / Reconciliation

In the Sacrament of Penance/Reconciliation God forgives our sins and restores us to life. This is accomplished through making an examination of conscience and a good confession.

While forgiveness is given through the abundant mercy of God, the graces of the Sacrament are known and understood in the performing of the penance, a work done by the penitent to show forth the intent to reform one’s life and remove the effects of one’s sins.

First Reconciliation (Confession)

Children aged 7 (usually in Second Grade) are eligible to celebrate their First Reconciliation (Confession). Our parish provides formation for this Sacrament as part of our Religious Education program, throughout the school year beginning in September, and culminating with the children making their first Confession in the spring, about a month prior to receiving their First Holy Communion.
